FEELING WINTER’S CHILL? THINK INSULATION!
If you’re cold now, insulation should be on your Spring to-do list. When looking to boost “R-Value,” consider these insulation options:
- Batt and blanket insulation – Used to insulate below grade, above ceilings, and within walls. It requires careful installation for effective performance.
- Loose-fill insulation – Loose fibers or fiber pellets are blown into building cavities or attics; usually done during a major renovation.
- Spray foam insulation – used for sealing hard to reach places. Spray foam fills nooks and crannies to create a continuous air-tight seal, regardless of framing complexity.
- Rigid board insulation – Comes in a variety of thicknesses and has a high insulating value (approximately R-4 to R-8 per inch.) This type of insulation can be used for basement walls, perimeter insulation, and in cathedral ceilings.
